21/09/16 Life drawing.

Wednesdays Life drawing class.
The first image was definitely a warm-up and i didn't worry too much about getting the anatomy correct, i was mostly trying to get used to charcoal again as it had been a while.
Second image was 5 x 5 minute quick sketches of various poses.
I used a marker for the continuous line drawing on the left.
At this stage with aching arm and aching back i sadly slowed and started making newbie mistakes.

  1. Hi David!

Welcome to the course! Hope your first few weeks have been exciting!

I'm Joe, a 2nd year (the guy that co-presented that rather riveting C.A.A Survival guide to you last Friday). Phil asked me to pop by and offer assistance for your first few weeks, So here I am. Think of me as an additional person to call for help if you need it.

My blog is over at tromacorp.blogspot.co.uk

If you’re in a fix and need to see evidence of how someone else has tackled a bit of work, you can see all of my work for inspiration from “Invisible Cities” here.

Make sure you're careful of your tone being too informal in your posts. It's great talking about erections in your social time (and it did make me laugh because I've had the exact same thought) but try to treat your blog as a professional space for your work.

    1. At least someone found it funny, still i removed it to stay on the tutors good sides, perhaps i'm just used to a more informal work ethic.

Working a few years with furries will do that to you I suppose hahaha

I've followed your blog, i'm happy for the help!

  3. Hey Dave - this is what comes from missing induction week - i.e. you missed the whole presentation on 'your blog' and 'it's tone' - this post makes me wince for three reasons: the first is that you begin by suggesting that life-drawing is something bad likely to make students 'groan' - you appear to be speaking for the whole group, and I think the group would probably disagree with your assessment; the second is you appear to making a body judgement in regards to the life-model who generously gave you his time today, and three you're talking about erections on your course blog... I'm about to send you the presentation that you missed. Perhaps I should have sent it before. Judging by the reaction to this post, you may want to think about editing it and re-posting in a more appropriate way - what do you think?

    1. Agreed, i stripped the information down to a simple and more factual approach.
I also agree that i probably should have been given the run down on blogs and presentation, still i don't think any serious damage has been done so i better have that presentation.
